I love shopping at OldNavy.com for convenient basics. I know my jeans size at Old Navy, and I know their jeans in that size will fit, even across different styles. They have loads of simple tops that I can wear to work, or to the grocery store, or to work in the garden. Their prices are low enough that it’s okay if something gets damaged (which happens to me occasionally at work), but their clothes are much nicer than a lot of similarly priced options. If I had kids I can only imagine how much I’d depend on them to keep my children clothed. I order from them a couple times a year usually, and here’s the best system I’m coming up with for getting the most for your money when you’re shopping at OldNavy.com. (It doesn’t work nearly as well in store, sorry!)
Plan to make 2 separate orders, over the course of about a month. This method works most easily if you have a smartphone and some other computer or tablet you can use.
The first one should take place while they’re giving away Super Cash. In your browser, with Honey installed, but NOT signed into your account, plan your order. Look around on the site to see the current free shipping minimum, and get to that. Then use Honey to run through the current coupon codes (and check your own email from them if you are on their list, sometimes I find personal coupon codes.) Figure out what the best discount code is, and make sure that with the discount you still qualify for free shipping. If not, shop some more.
Then open up your Ibotta app on your phone. Look for Old Navy online in the list of stores. If they’re running a cash back promotion, click through it. Sign into your account, add the items to your cart, and enter the coupon code you got from Honey. Finish your transaction. (If Ibotta isn’t running a promo, just finish up your transaction in your other browser or whatever.)
Check your email right away for your Super Cash. Star the email so it’s easy to find later. Figure out the date Super Cash becomes available, and set a calendar reminder. (I’ve lost plenty of it, simply because I forgot!) Honestly, stop wasting your brainpower keeping track of stuff like this and use the technology in your hand.
Then, when it’s time, do the whole thing over. Sometimes Super Cash can’t be combined with other discounts, other times it can. You’ll definitely have a minimum purchase amount to use the Super Cash, so read over your email carefully so you can be sure what number you’re trying to get to.
In your browser with Honey, fill your cart, at least enough for free shipping, but ideally enough to use up your Super Cash. Find the best discount code. Open Ibotta. Click through Old Navy online. Enter your order, enter your promo code, enter your Super Cash code(s). Finish your transaction. Wait by the mailbox and enjoy your second order at the best discount out there!
Most of couponing is just finding ways to stack as many deals as possible at the same time. Places like Target and Walgreens have lots of different brands, so there are lots of ways to get coupons. Because Old Navy only carries Old Navy products (at least as far as I know?), outside coupons won’t be an option. That’s why the best deal comes with stacking their own internal promotions as much as possible. Now go forth in your tasteful and inexpensive knit tops and cute pajamas!
